Ahhhhhh.......this is awkward. I know we took a little sabbatical, but this new year brings alot of music that needs to be heard! For now though, I have to give props to JULEP EP in the November archive. In fact, I'll even post-date this so it looks cooler (hush hush now) and less slack-y on our part.
I was at work sifting through sheet music when this group caught my ear. They are classified as "Dream Pop", which gives homage to those yummy synthesizers that we all forgot 1980 threw at us. It's cooler this time around though, 30 years was enough to take the edge off. In fact, this whole album could be described as taking the edge off. The amorphous sound goes hand in hand with the vocals because there is never any insistent tone; it's all edgeless and gently progressing. If you are in the mood to chill, head here first for sure.
