Coming straight from Thompson House live! Season Ten is hitting hard tonight and I'm not disappointed that I came. They've got a great sound with a well balanced mix between an alternative vibe and angst touched vocals by lead singer Jared. The drummer and bassist tickle your chest from the back and side of the stage, all the musicians stand out in their aural support for each other. The Halloween EP release matches the tone they set tonight; there is a moody and almost punk sound. Look for the video interview later tonight!

Alright everyone so Dalton here again! So coming from a band that just released their album yesterday, a punk band that ranges from the one to two and a half minute mark, which is what you've come to expect from angsty punk bands. But from every track they've established exactly what they want to come across with every chorus replaced verse. They know exactly what they want to tell you and they make it a point to tell you without soft metaphors. Hey everyone! Dalton here! Sorry about my last post just jumping straight in without any kind of introduction. I'm just one of your peon writers trying to find new music for all of you and I might have a habit of jumping into things a tad too quick. Anywho onto what you're all here for, new punk band I just came across and they're hailing all the way from Schopfheim, Germany going by the name Frau Hölle. I'm quite pleased to have the chance to post our first music video review. Beat the rest of you guys to it! Ha! But yeah, I found Einar Stray on Bandcamp which I've been using alot of lately. There's a major element of these guys that I really like: live shows. The music video for this is (apparently) their live show edited for sound and adding some post production video effects. I love the 'real' feeling that you get from watching this (and I hate to say that) which adds more weight to the already easily related lyrics. Being from 'Murica, I notice the accent when he sings but I think it adds some nice coloring in the sound. There's also a point to make with the live show; the only electronic equipment to be seen is the keyboard itself and microphones! All of these elements combine and form a well constructed emotional structure for the listen to, and the uplifting major chords just keep carrying you higher and higher. -Ian- Enough about my opinion, check this video out: Sifting through Band Camp's relentless library, I stumbled across the Blood on the Walls album. A unique blend of underground hip-hop, distorting the minds of those who listen to the radio's nonsensical mixes between pop and rap. Intense beats fall into calming melodies and you find yourself kicking your foot as you listen to harsh words that seamlessly transition between tracks. "Starts with the master plan Listening to these tracks, plugging your headphones in and walking through the world gets your mind wondering about why life works the way it does. Whether you get the same vibe or not it still gets your mind pacing and it's still worth the time for listening to unique and different featured artists such as Habeas Corpus and General X and DJs like DJ Rhum'1 and DJ Madhandz. Anyway! Download the album. Help the artists out by leaving us a comment, talk to your friends about us, and most important, share these guys on Facebook, Twitter, tumblr, whatever social media you use. Help the bands and artists and give us a purpose for being here! The album is free to download, full songs, full album!
I'll be on sharing all kinds of music, punk, rock, hip-hop. If you have any requests for music you wanna see shared, feel free to add us on Facebook or Twitter, you can find any of the writers and we'll do what we can to get back to you. -Dalton Yeah, I was selfish and chose the blog title as the first post. Day 1 on the blog, and I can't be more excited to see how this pans out. I was listening to some new tracks I found on Bandcamp today and a wild hair struck me; I felt the creative juices flowing. I realized I wanted to step back into the literary world with a blog again and I knew it felt right. What separates this from the other couple I've written for is the lack of, well, rules. I needed a collaboration to keep this alive and well and I wanted to tap the intellect of some of my fellow musicians (soon to appear I'm sure). The entire purpose of this site is to discover and illuminate new music and artists because frankly, I like to, and because it makes it easy on anyone who visits this to get a quick snapshot of whats soon to be in the music industry. Nobody (except us apparently?) really wants to take the time to sift through 10 pages of Soundcloud tags to find a song they like. Real talk. If you like what we post and how we talk about it, have faith and carry on. If you want more in-depth track-busting, we'll link to the songs we're talking about so you can peruse them yourself; believe me when I say I understand that curious musical mind. But to bring this short intro to a close, I say welcome and I hope you see a couple things that peak your interest. Down to business. As I said earlier, I was sifting through Bandcamp, and I found a lovely little gem called Tide (feat. Term K) by Purrple. Take a gander and I'll talk about what I liked. It's got headnodic beats; the first of many times I'll use that word. About thirty seconds in I'll bet your head was slowly bobbing to that syncopated percussion. Another personal weakness is the female lead. I've had a few voice lessons and I know a confident, no-nonsense vocalist when I hear one. Her tone is smooth but not overpowering, which only lends weight to the rapper Term K who steps in for a verse to give his straightforward lyrics. I loved the combination of the two and the interplay between both was the point at which I knew I had to share this song with everyone else. The rest of the album doesn't fail to disappoint, with similar rap features and a focus on the talents of the lead singer. Finally, to top it off, Purrple has generously made the EP available for free download which is frankly icing on the cake at this point. I look forward to the next full album that is released, and hope that we will soon be filling the pages with personal favorites like this.
